    Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral

Esztergom was the first capital of Hungary, 1000 years ago. Our state founder, King St. Stephen, was born here. Today it's the Head of the Hungarian Roman Catholic Church. Here we'll visit the largest Cathedral in Central and Eastern Europe, including the crypt where Cardinal Mindszenty was reburied. Travel time: 70-80 min.

    Visegradi Fellegvar

Visegrád is located in the middle of the Danube Bend. It was Hungary's Royal Seat in the 14th and 15th centuries. There is a fortress on the hilltop with a breathtaking view to the hair-pin turn of the Danube. This is one of the rare places where the river actually looks blue - as it is in the famous Blue Danube waltz, composed by Johann Strauss. The castle functions as a museum today where visitors can get an authentic mediaeval impression. Travel time: 25-35 min.

    Szentendre

Szentendre is also known as an "artists' village". It has been favoured by many local artists because of its friendly and picturesque ambience. Thanks to the former Serbian refugees, who originally came here to escape the Turkish/Ottoman invasions of Central Europe, there is a kind of Serbian atmosphere in the village even to this day. There are narrow, cobblestone streets, colorful houses with small courtyards, museums and lots of handicraft shops. The trip back to Budapest can be made on a boat, if you prefer. Travel time: 40-50 min.

1 hour 45 minutes Admission ticket free
