Alwar holds the story of Hemu — the Hindu general who in 1556 came within a single battle of becoming the last Hindu emperor of India. Its City Palace has five extraordinary gates. Siliserh Lake was created by a Maharaja who fell in love with a local woman and built a palace on the water to be near her. The overnight stay is in Dadhikar Fort, a thousand years old.
Day two brings Neemrana, the 15th century fort palace and its step well — a medieval water harvesting structure that doubles as a cool retreat from the Rajasthan heat.

8AM– Drive down to Alwar 1130- Alwar Fort Bala Quila is a magnificent Fort built in 1550 by Hasan Khan Mewati. Perched at an elevation of 1000 feet Alwar Fort has 15 large towers, 51 small towers and 446 openings. It has had an eventful past passing into the hands of dynasties like the Khanzadas, Mughals, Pathans and Jats.
The 17th century City Palace is a great specimen of the Rajput-Islamic architecture. The Palace has a unique feature of multiple gates in the form og Laxman Pol, Suraj Pol, Chand Pol, Kishan Pol and Andheri gate. The inner courtyard is surrounded by Krishna temples on all sides.
Built by Maharaja Vinay Khan in the year 1845, this lake is a key source of water to the city of Alwar, There are also two earthen dams to collect the waters of a small tributary of River Ruparel in the Siliserh Lake. The Maharaja also built a magnificent Palace on the lake for his beloved. This also served as his hunting lodge.
Now we visit the most artistic monument of Alwar. This cenotaph was built by Vinay Singh in the memory of King Bakhtawar Singh and his queen, Moosi, in 1815. The first storey is made in sandstone while the upper storey and chhatris (cenotaphs) are made in white marble. Its carved pavilion has domed arches with exquisite floral tracery and patterns.
9 AM– Checkout from Alwar and drive 1.5 hours to reach Neemrana Neemrana Fort Built in 1464 AD, Neemrana Fort-Palace is located on a high hillock and commands magnificent views of the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Its name derives from a valiant local chieftain named Nimola Meo. It was restored in 1980s and today it serves as a heritage hotel.
After lunch we will visit the Baori or step well which is a unique type of water-harvesting structure. Their primary purpose was to provide water to these parched lands round the year.
