  San Carlos de Bariloche (commonly called Bariloche) is a city in the Patagonia region of Argentina. It borders Nahuel Huapi, a large glacial lake surrounded by mountains in the Andes. Bariloche is known for its Swiss alpine-style architecture and its chocolate, which is sold in shops on Miter Street, the main avenue. It is also a popular base for hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains, and for exploring the surroundings of the Lake District.

  It is an area of exceptional beauty, visited every year by lovers of mountains, climbing and fishing, since there are optimal areas such as Lake Los Moscos and the Manso River. When you arrive at the Manso River (a river that rises at the top of the Tronador and that changes color throughout its route), you can stop at the Los Rapidos bridge to observe the trout swimming in haste in the crystal clear water. If luck accompanies, it is also possible to see a kingfisher. Continuing to Pampa Linda, you will find a beautiful place where you will find accommodation and gastronomy services. From here we start our way to the base of the hill, where there is a warm confectionery and from there you can see other Tronador glaciers. The ascent continues until you reach the last viewpoint of the route, the Ventisquero Negro, a glacier that descends from the Tronador and stands out for its dark color.

  This lake is surrounded by coihue forests and its waters are relatively temperate, since the main contribution is not the melting of winter snows, but of winter and spring rains. For that reason, it is one of the preferred destinations for bathing and water sports.

  It is a V-shaped lake, ideal for fishing and sailing. It is located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park and has numerous places to camp and picnic. One of its arms is aligned in a north-south direction (the Cathedral arm), while the other is oriented in an east-west direction (the Tronador arm). Next to the vertex of the two arms is the Isla Corazón.

• Along the way, you will find viewpoints to enjoy the impressive views offered by the Bonete and Cresta de Gallo hills, or you can go to one of the dark sand beaches of Lake Mascardi. Passing Villa Mascardi, turn right and you can follow a path surrounded by native forests.
