What is the "Discover SCUBA Diving" class? Well, let’s say you’re on vacation. You’ve always wanted to go scuba diving, but you’re not sure it’s something you want to invest the time or the money for a full certification course. You're thinking.. I want to “try before I buy”. So you decide to sign up for the Discover SCUBA class.
If this is you, you have come to the right place!
At Sun Diving Centre from the moment you arrive, you become our friend and we look forward to welcoming Discover SCUBA Divers and offering you this special and unique experience without the long training hours and high cost.
Your day with the Sun Diving Team will look something like this:
-Fill out your Medical Questionnaire to ensure your safety
-Help our team size your equipment up
-Receive an oral briefing explaining information on SCUBA equipment, dive techniques & communicating underwater
-Learn and practice first in 1m shallow lagoon
-Dive up to 10m at beautiful "Rock Island" with the marine life

We are next to “Kingfisher Beach Restaurant” on the Unawatuna beach
What to expect
First you can get comfortable with a hot cup of tea while you fill your Health Questionnaire out. Next, with you we will choose the best suitable equipment sizes. With this diving equipment we will then start the dive briefing explaining all information about the SCUBA equipment; dive techniques; how to communicate underwater with your dive buddies and information on the dive site. Your first experience with the diving gear will be in our shallow lagoon at about 1m depth, where you will learn and practice all of the important techniques you need to know. Once you feel fully comfortable, we will set off for the main dive at the beautiful dive site "Rock Island", just a 10 minute boat ride away. Rock Island dive allows you to explore around the interesting reef and watch the countless array of marine species. The depth starts at 2m up to 10m; at the deepest point you can see part of a ship wreck.
