We were born, raised and always lived in Porto, so we know the city as a local and, since it is a private tour, we will customize it according to your interests.
In this private food/wine tour we will focus on Portuguese gastronomy, but you will learn a lot about our culture, history and traditions, which makes us unique.
You will visit the Bolhão market and several food spots and tascas (traditional stores), while getting in contact with the locals. Meanwhile, discover the stories behind our main dishes: the legend of the "tripeiros", name given to the Porto inhabitants; you will learn how "francesinha" is made, that "caloric bomb" that you should not miss and the tasty codfish recipes, so important in our culture.
We will harmonise it with our portuguese wines and explain the diverse grapes and wine regions. And what about our cakes, such as pastel de nata or Jesuita?

The tour will end at Infante square, near the Stock Exchange
Our accredited guide will meet you at the interior clock of the São Bento train Station. The murals represent moments in the country's history, and the multicoloured panels depict rural scenes showing the people of various regions, as well as the 2 wine regions in the north of Portugal. Locals are known as "Tripeiros", and you will discover the legend behind, which is related to the conquest of Ceuta (1415), with the principal figure of Infante D. Henrique, who subjugated the Moors. The station is located in the Historic Centre of Porto, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Monument of Portugal. It is the main terminus of Porto's suburban railway lines, and it is connected to São Bento Metro Station on Metro line D.
Get to know the locals, known as "tripeiros" at Bolhão market and taste canned fish with green wines, as well as olives and lupins.
