The discrete charm of Lucca reveals itself, bit by bit, as one strolls through the ancient and narrow streets and stops to admire the stately white marble churches built long ago. Lucca’s most intriguing and fascinating secrets are hidden within the private walls of the severe patrician palazzos, in the darkest corners of the Romanesque churches, behind the walls of secret gardens, and within the mysterious underground. We will unveil many hidden gems regarding the art and history of Lucca. The tour begins by the statue of Burlamacchi on Piazza San Michele, the area where the ancient Roman forum was located. Time to photograph the spectacular facade of the 12th century. Along the way, you will encounter Lucca's most famous celebrity: Giacomo Puccini, and see the exterior of the building where he was born. Still today, his operas fascinate audiences all around the world! The tour is bilingual English/Italian

Just a few steps away from San Frediano church is one of the most beautiful squares in Lucca, Piazza Anfiteatro. The elliptical shape of the characteristic piazza is due to subsequent construction of buildings over the foundations of the ancient Roman amphitheatre
