The National Museum of China operates daily from 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:00) except Mondays. Three timed admission slots are available each day: 9:00–11:00, 11:00–13:30, and 13:30–16:00.
On the scheduled visit date, all guests must present the original passport used for booking and each person’s ticket QR code. Entry is only allowed through the North Gate during the reserved time slot. The most convenient way is to take the metro line No. 1 and get off at Tiananmen East station, exit C or D, then walk for about 5 minutes to get to the north gate.
Please verify your tickets to National Museum of China firstly. After your visit, you can stroll around Tiananmen Square using the same QR code — kindly follow the sequence of visiting the museum first, then Tiananmen Square.
Travelers holding Chinese IDs or passports must book tickets independently — this product is exclusively for foreign visitors.
National Museum of China houses 1.43 million artifacts across 7 floors. B1 floor is the core exhibition floor with the theme of Ancient China Gallery, you can see Houmuwu Cauldron (Shang Dynasty bronze), Four-Sheep Zun, Jade Dragon of Hongshan Culture. The Rotating special exhibitions and transparent relic conservation lab is on B2. The 3rd Floor is an ideal place for those who are interested in ancient Chinese paintings.
