Around 7 in the morning you reach the Lejía lagoon, 1.9 km2 and 4,200 meters above sea level. Its waters are frozen during the winter months. Here a stop for breakfast is made observing the stunning landscape of the area, dominated by the Chiliques, Láscar, Aguas Calientes and Acamarachi volcanoes. It is not strange to run into vicuñas, flamingos and even gnomes that roam freely through the sector that remains virtually virgin. After feeding, the last section is carried out by vehicle for a couple more minutes until reaching the slopes of the Láscar volcano.

Lascar volcano corresponds to the most active in the north of Chile. Its summit consists of six craters, where the central crater emanates a constant fumarole with high sulfur concentration, visible from several kilometers away. The ascent is not difficult, but it does take a couple of hours due to its steep slope. Arriving at the top (5,592 meters) you will find a spectacular view!
