Take a train on the world-highest Qinghai-Tibet Railway to Tibet from Beijing. This tour will include 2 full-day on train from the plain of eastern China to the highland of western China, to witness the most beautiful scenery of Qinghai-Tibet Railway: endless land of snows, vast desert, boundless grassland, snow-capped mountains and stunning lakes, and 3 days in Lhasa to visit the world heritage sites, like the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery.

Depart from Beijing West Train Station. Please make sure you arrive at Beijing West Train Station in advance to have enough time to pick up the train ticket and board the train. On Day 3, at Lhasa Railway Station, tour guide will hold pickup board to pick up clients.

    Take a train to Lhasa from Beijing

    Beijing West Railway Station

    Your tour starts from the Beijing West Station. You need hold your passport and Tibet Travel Permit to ticket window where you will pick you up your train ticket. When entering the station, you need to present your passport, China Visa, Tibet Travel Permit and train ticket to the conductor. Then start to enjoy the memorable trip. The train departs at 20:00. (The train might depart from Beijing in the afternoon if transfer train ticket is purchased.) Notes: Travel date from Apr.1 to Oct.10, clients need accept that tour operator will buy transfer train tickets: Beijing - Xining ticket and then Xining - Lhasa ticket because direct train ticket from Beijing to Lhasa is impossible to buy during this period. On Day 1, depart from Beijing West Train Station. Please make sure you arrive at Beijing West Train Station in advance to have enough time to pick up the train ticket and board the train. Direct train ticket from Beijing to Lhasa: at 8:00pm Transfer train ticket from Beijing to Xining and then Xining to Lhasa: 1:05pm or 4:03pm or 8:00pm On Day 3, at Lhasa Railway Station, tour guide will hold pickup board to pick up clients. On Day 4, 5, 6, clients will be picked up from hotel.

    Today, on the first full-day, you will pass through two important provincial capitals in northwest China: Lanzhou and Xining. Traveling along on the train, you will be able to enjoy the incredible scenery of the countries in Northwest China.

    Today, you will witness the most beautiful scenic view on the Qinghai Tibet Train. After arrival, your tour guide will meet you at the train station in Lhasa.

    Potala Palace

    Today's tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.

    Jokhang Temple

    Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple.

    Barkhor Street

    Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market. Besides, We can taste Tibetan tea with locals in tea house; The welcome dinner will also be arranged accordingly.

    Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si)

    In the morning ,you are going to visit Drepung monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. You can visit biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.

    Sera Monastery

    In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon. In addition, you can tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house; inside the monastery, you can see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.
