After your safari experience, we drive to Multiple Purposes Lake Volta, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world by surface area. Which extends about 400 kilometers (250 miles) in length from north to south. It was created by the construction of the Akosombo Dam on the Volta River, completed in 1965, and covers an area of approximately 8,502 square kilometers (3,283 square miles), making it one of Africa's largest reservoirs by surface area. Its creation required the relocation of around 78,000 people and flooded parts of the former Volta River Basin. We would take a boat ride on this 400km man-made lake, see fishermen as they are busy checking on their catch for the day, and savor a delicious meal while cruising or dining by the lakeside and enjoying the beautiful peace and quiet away from the city.
