I’d rather call it an experience, you will be getting the chance to see Tangier with an eye of a local female tour guide, who will be sharing her historical knowledge and her experiences, you will know and see how the locals live in Morocco by having a walking tour of Tangier medina, you will taste the Moroccan food which is made with passion and natural ingredients and spices by having lunch at one of the local restaurants in the medina itself, and of course let’s not forget the experience of camel ride at the beach. We can meet you at the square right at the exit of the old Medina if you don't wish to be picked up from your hotel, port or airport.
We will start our walking tour through Tangier’s Kasbah to the alleys of Tangier’s old Medina. We will enjoy the charm of the decorated alleyways which are full of history and beauty in order to provide an insight into the history and the architectural style of the old town. We will pass by the fortress Tangier’s Kasbah, we will have a stop at the Kasbah Museum, we will see several old medina’s gates such as Bab bhar, bab Assa, bab Marsa.. the tomb of the famous traveler ibn battuta, April the 9th square which is considered like a border between the new neighborhood and the old Medina, the main square of Zoco chico ‘souk dakhel’ and so on… We will be also experiencing the local culture including the traditional Moroccan food by having Lunch at a restaurant at the main square and see the typical markets souks where local farmers, artisans and merchants display a variety of handmade items.
We will have a stop to enjoy the beauty of nature, Perdicaris Parc which is located in the most beautiful and classy neighborhood of Tangier ‘Jbel lekbir’, it has an amazing view on the sea and a great story which I will tell you once we’re there.
Stop at The cape of Spartel which marks the western entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar and the only meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean here in Morocco. We will also see The lighthouse which was built in 1864, it is considered a historic landmark building in Tangier.
We will enjoy camel ride at the beach of Achakar, be prepared for some adventure!
The caves of Hercules which are a major tourist attraction, they have two entrances: natural which is known for its shape as the map of Africa and manmade from we will be entering. The legend states that it was the last resting place for Hercules after performing one of his twelve Labors given to him by King Eurystheus. The cave was used by the Berbers (the indigenous of Morocco) as a quarry for making grinding millstones.
