Old Montreal is the historic heart of the city, where cobblestone streets and centuries-old limestone buildings meet the St. Lawrence River. Notre-Dame Basilica features a dramatic Gothic Revival façade and a glowing blue-and-gold interior. Place d’Armes highlights the contrast between historic stone buildings and modern towers. The Bank of Montreal building, with its neoclassical design and massive Corinthian columns, marks the birthplace of Canadian banking. Bonsecours Market, topped by its silver dome, overlooks City Hall, a grand Second Empire building. The Old Port is home to the Clock Tower, Ferris wheel, and cruise ship docks.
