Meeting and pickup
Pick-up is available from any hotel, B&B, or other accommodation located within Rome’s historic center.
Please provide the exact name of your hotel/B&B and, if possible, the address.
If your accommodation is located outside the historic center, we will arrange a meeting point where we will pick you up to begin the tour. (Please note that your accommodation must still be within Rome—specifically, inside the "GRA" or Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road.)
It is also helpful for us to have your phone number (for SMS, WhatsApp, etc.) so that we can stay in touch if necessary.
What to expect
07:30 - Departure from Rome
Pick-up at your hotel/B&B or address in Rome.
Meeting with our driver and departure towards Umbria, the green heart of Italy, crossing the hilly landscapes of the Tiber Valley, admiring small medieval villages and towns.
Travel time: about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
10:00 approximately — Arrival in Assisi, meeting with our local guide and start of the city tour (on foot)
Visit of the Basilica of Santa Chiara. Francesco's young friend, also from a wealthy family, decided to follow Francesco into poverty and silence. He founded the Order of the Clarisse. Crypt visit.
- Continuation for the Historic Center of Assisi: Piazza del Comune with the splendid Civic Tower and the Temple of Minerva from the Roman era.
Visit of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore which houses the tomb of Saint Carlo Acutis (the Saint of the Internet), a stop for those who wish a moment of prayer.
Arrival at the Sacred Convent and visit of the two Basilicas: the lower one which houses the body of Saint Francis and the upper one where you will admire the wonderful medieval frescoes by Giotto di Bondone.
12:00 End of the guided tour, farewell from our guide and free time available for photos, shopping, or a moment of reflection and prayer.
1:00 PM — Free Lunch. Assisi is rich in restaurants for every taste and budget. Don't miss tasting some dishes of the noble Umbrian cuisine.
2:30 PM — Meeting with our driver at the Giovanni Paolo II Parking Lot and departure for Santa Maria degli Angeli, a town at the foot of Assisi. Arrival in 15 minutes and visit to the Basilica named after it which houses the Porziuncola, the small house that Francis built with his own hands, which later became a place of worship and reflection. Internal visit of the Basilica to fully immerse yourself in the spirituality of the place.
4:00 PM - Departure for return to Rome. It was an intense day, rich in emotions and meanings. Now enjoy the return in complete peace.
Expected arrival in Rome around 7:00 PM. Release to your accommodation. Thank you for choosing us.
