    Fiordo Di Furore

Scenic pass in front of the famous fjord, one of the most iconic sights of the Amalfi Coast. The fjord is a deep cleft in the rock, crossed by the Schiato stream as it rushes down from the Agerola plateau. Its geology made the Fiordo di Furore a safe haven from enemy attacks for centuries. Deep inlets and sheer cliffs like these are typical of northern European landscapes, yet Furore blends that fairy-tale scenery with Mediterranean scents and atmosphere. Since 1997 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with other places on the Amalfi Coast, and Furore, with just over 800 inhabitants, is a member of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" club.
