The Dujiangyan irrigation system was originally constructed around 256 BC by the State of Qin as a water conservation and flood control project. The system's infrastructure is located on the Min River (Sichuan), which is the longest tributary of the Yangtze, in Sichuan, China.
It is an ancient town in traditional Chinese architecture where some old buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasty were very well preserved. Free visit in the old town, to see the old Buildings, the Written-Paper Burning tower, small shops along the black-stone paved street, or just rest in a local Tea-house and enjoy a cup of jasmine tea.
