Meeting point
Completed by the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympics, the unique City Hall belongs in the list of objects protected under heritage conservation. The appearance of the fascinating complex brings to mind the ancient pyramids of the Mayans, as well as the old bastions surrounding Tallinn’s Old Town dating from the Swedish rule.
The Seaplane harbour is best known for its architecturally unique Seaplane Hangars. Built a century ago, in 1916 and 1917, as a part of Peter the Great sea fortress, these hangars are the world’s first reinforced concrete shell structures of such a great size.
Located in a reclaimed factory area not far from Old Town, it is Estonia's biggest creative economic enterprise centre, bringing together a diverse range of activities and businesses.
The new market is something of a community centre, too, drawing in locals for their everyday shopping, but its unique atmosphere, its fascinating selection of antiques and its brewery also make it a great place for tourists to explore.
