Some records indicate that this square was organized as an astronomical complex. Which in turn is formed by a pyramid aligned with a platform located in an easterly direction. Part of this building consisted of these temples being used for stargazing. This method was used by the Maya to keep track of the passage of time, according to the astronomical methods they used. You will know the oldest part of Tikal dating back to 800 BC. It has a 32 meter high pyramid that you can climb. Here your guide will tell you about the Mayan calendars, such as the Solar and Lunar.
