    DAY 1: ISTANBUL > CAPPADOCIA

    Cappadocia

    Your private vehicle will be waiting for you for an early morning transfer to the airport. Following the flight to the Kapadokya Airport, you will meet with your tour guide and travel to the Cappadocia region via car. You will visit the open-air museum of Goreme, with its churches carved out of rock and colorful frescoes, and the Karanlik Church, which has recently been restored and announced as one of the world's treasures by UNESCO. The tour includes the Zelve Valley and the Kaymakli underground city, where the early Christians found refuge. Other sites will be Pasabag Valley with Fairy Chimneys, the Pigeon Valley, the citadel of Uchisar, and Avanos, the pottery village. Dinner and overnight stay in Cappadocia. (Optional tours to a simple wine house or a local folkloric performance after dinner are available).

    Goreme Open-Air Museum

    You will visit the open-air museum of Goreme with its churches carved out of rock and colorful frescoes and the Karanlik Church, which has recently been restored and announced as one of the treasures of the world by UNESCO. Admission fee: 150 TRY/ per person

    DAY 2: CAPPADOCIA > NEMRUT

    Mount Nemrut

    The Nemrud mountain stands in Southeastern Turkey. It is a 7.000 feet tall memorial for Kings and Gods of the ancient world; its summit is decorated with several giant statues erected in 62 BC by King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene. The statues flank the tomb sanctuary. They are built after the images, apart from the King himself, lions, eagles, and various ancient gods, such as Hercules - Vahagn, Zeus-Aramaz, or Oromasdes (associated with the Iranic god Ahura Mazda), Tyche, and Apollo-Mithras.

    DAY 3: NEMRUD

    Mount Nemrut

    You will leave the hotel very early in the morning to witness the spectacular sunrise over the stone heads and god statues from the time of King Antiochus. You will return to the hotel for breakfast and rest till the afternoon climbing. This second climb will be rewarded with an incredible sunset, which you will watch from the sanctuary, where the King rests eternally, with an escort of gods. Admission fee: 50 TRY/per person

    You will leave the hotel after breakfast for a journey to Malatya. You will visit the 14th-century castle at Eski Kale (Arsameia of Nymphaios) and a magnificent 3rd-century Roman bridge at Cendere. You will travel through the plains of ancient Mesopotamia. You will witness the progress of ages during your lunch at the foot of the giant Atatürk Dam that tames the Euphrates River. You will have dinner and spend the night in Malatya, the city of Apricots.
