This tour allows the independent traveller to make their own way to the stargazing activity. You drive to meet the guides and the group at the sunset viewpoint, then follow the group with your vehicle to the stargazing point.
The Polestar tour is cheaper and is a good option for bigger groups or families who have a rental car.
**You must have your own vehicle at every moment (a rental car, not a taxi).
**Please make sure to PROVIDE A WHATSAPP contact NUMBER to receive information from the activity provider. It is mandatory.
**Be aware that the EXACT meeting time and other useful information will be sent via whatsapp the morning of the scheduled tour.**
**The tour is in ENGLISH only**
The tour ends at the stargazing point which can vary and will be decided on site depending on weather conditions.
We will meet you at Mirador de los Poleos a west-facing point overlooking the islands of La Gomera and La Palma a lookout point situated on the first recorded volcanic eruption that Cristopher Columbus wrote of in his ship log on his voyager of discovery to the Americas in 1492. Here we watch the sunset with a glass of cava. This is a wonderful photographic opportunity. As the sun drops below the horizon you can often see the colours of mount Teide turn a shade of red. After the sunset you will follow us up into the Teide national park where we will look at the last recorded eruption in 1909 and on to a lookout point at Mount Samara. Here the sunset is beginning to turn the clouds vivid colors and the island of El Hierro is also visible. We set up our large computerized telescope and look at the Moon and a laser guide to stars.
