For the bird lovers, it is their opportunity to watch birds of different kinds. Their chipping makes for melodious music as you sail along the mangrove forest.
You get the chance to spot occasional crocodiles basking by the river bank.
A motorized canoe allows you a fun trip up the river and back to the sandbank where you get to swim and enjoy the beautiful white sand.
For those who desire (It is an opportunity to interact with the locals, get to learn and experience their culture)

Meeting and pickup
Pick up from Mombasa (North coast) is between 5.30 am to 6.00 am with extra charge of 15 - 20 USD per person depending on group size. Minimum number of people required to be picked up from North Coast (Mombasa) and South Coast (Diani) is 2 people Pick ups in Diani Hotels or villas is between 7.30am to 8.00am Exact pickup time is advised before your travel date by our reservationist
What to expect
The river abounds with exceptional bird life and you have a chance to spot occasional crocodiles as they bask in the sun by the river bank.
Please note that the water in River Ramisi is not clear (due to the mangrove) therefore, not suitable for snorkeling. This trip is a calm and relaxing trip.
A stop on the sandbank ensures that you’re at the most beautiful spot on the coast for swimming and making the most of this little piece of paradise. (Don’t forget your sunscreen, swimming suits, towel and beach sandals).
After the boat trip, you head to the Funzi Village, where you visit the market, see the houses and schools. (This is optional for only who desire)
Afterwards, we head to the Funzi Restaurant where seafood delicacies accompanied by Swahili dishes are served. A Sample of our seafood specialties include : crab, grilled fish and coconut rice or chips. For non-seafood menus we offer chicken or beef. Vegetarian dishes are also catered for on request.
After a few minutes rest, you are then dropped off at your hotel.
