Our 11 Days Morocco Desert Tour starts from Casablanca via Rabat, The Blue City, Meknes, Fez old city, Atlas mountains, Kasbahs, and it includes two days desert trekking in Erg Chebbi dunes, Merzouga Desert, Morocco.
We do pick up all our travelers at their accommodations/ airport/ port etc..
We will personally pick you up from Casablanca Airport, then drive to the Great mosque of Hassan 2. The biggest and the only mosque that is allowed for Non-Muslims visitors in the country. You will have a guided walking tour of the mosque and free time to take pictures.
Drive through the Casablanca Cornish to arrive to Mohammed V Square; it is a famous square and the center of the city where different shows are performed such as acrobats, singers, and artists.
Drive from Casablanca to Rabat, the current capital and one of the imperial cities of Morocco. The, will visit the Oudaya Kasbahs, an authentic fortress against the Atlantic Ocean.
Next, we take a walk inside the Hassan Tower. Rabat’s most prominent landmark and next to the tower, we will have the chance to take a look of the Mausoleum of the former kings of the Royal Family.
After we visit the Hassan Tower, we will then drive by the Royal palace where the current royal family based.
We will drive through the green fields of wheat and barley, and the spectacular scenery of the Rif Mountains. In the evening, we arrive Chefchaouen, a beautifully perched city beneath the peaks of the Rif Mountains with its blue washed houses and streets. We will drop you at your accommodation, rest and then, treat yourself with a memorable walk inside the prettiest town in Morocco.
A Morning walk in the blue city is recommended before we leave to Fez. This city is one of the most attractive sights in Morocco. Small, uncrowded, and easy to explore. Most of its buildings are painted in blue, giving them a clean and fresh look. The city also has many other sights, such as the Jewish Mellah, the Kasbah from the 14th century, the waterfalls of Ras El-Maa, and the Spanish mosque on a hilltop not far from the Medina. Beside the Kasbah, a small square where people gather in the evening and it is full of local restaurants, shops, and different shows.
After your walk in the blue city, we will leave Chefchaouen and drive through the Rif mountains to reach the Roma ruins of Volubulis. A Roman archaeological site that dates back to the 3rd century BC.
After we visit the Raman site, we will drive further for few kilometers where the whitewashed town of Moulay Idriss and it is Morocco’s most pilgrimage sites. Then, we continue driving to reach Meknes. A UNISCO site and the most fortified imperial city in Morocco. We will visit the highlight sites of the city among of which the famous gate of Bab Mansour, The Qara prison, L’hdim square, and Sehrij E’ssouani.
At the end of the day we will arrive Fes and drop you in your accommodation in the middle of the old city of Fes.
Visit the Famous Blue gate named Bab Bou Jloud which is the entrance to the Medina from the west.
Visit The Quaraouine Mosque which is one of the oldest universities in the world. It serves now as a mosque and a Koranic school.
Next, a short walk down to the Madrassa Bou Inania. Fez’s finest theological college.
Take a walk inside the Medina Souks which is the oldest marketplace where Fez’s most special hand craft goods are all over the place.
Our walk continues toward the Tanneries. One of Fes’ most iconic sights and a natural process of high-quality leather with almost the same methods since medieval times. At the end of the tour, our guide will escort you to your Riad in Fes.
Early Morning, we will meet you in your Riad and our way continue to Merzouga Desert. Our first stop will be in Ifrane. Known us Switzerland of Morocco located in the Middle Atlas. We will stop for coffee or a short walk before we continue our tour toward Azrou forest.
After a few kilometers from Ifrane city is where the cedar tree forest of Azrou, hosting a type of Macaque called the Barbary apes. We will have a moment to enjoy with the monkeys before we get back on the road again.
Our next stop will be in Midelt, the country of apples. We will have lunch in this beautiful city and then drive through the Atlas Mountains alongside the Ziz Valley to reach the city of Er-Rachidia which is the gate to the Desert and the southern parts of Morocco.
We will drive more south via the Ziz Oases filed with palm tree groves and Berber villages along the way to reach Erfoud, which is a place of fossils that dates back to hundreds of million years
We will reach Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, and enjoy the view of the dunes from the hotel's terrace. At night you can take a walk outside to enjoy a moment of stars gazing.
Our desert adventure tour will start today, we will load the camels with our bags, tents. And everything we need for our desert trek. Then, we leave the center of Merzouga and head toward the great dunes of Erg Chebbi dunes. We will follow the footsteps of the camels as our camel guide lead them through the middle of the sand dunes. We will explore the dunes that rise up to 150 meters, and from there, we will enjoy a breath-taking view of Merzouga desert and its surrounding. Our trekking journey continues as we trek up and down the dunes and explore all what the desert offers. Then, our guide will spot the right place where we will spend the night. We will set up our tents and start preparing dinner for you as you enjoy a beautiful sunset in the middle of the dunes. Once dinner is ready, we will set up a romantic table with carpets and candles for you to enjoy your first dinner inside the dunes. Next, we will gather around the fire, tell stories, and enjoy the starriest night ever.
Today, while you wake up to enjoy the sunrise, we will prepare breakfast for you. Then, after breakfast, we will load our camels again, and start pour second trekking day of the desert. Our guide will guide us through the beautiful scenery of the golden dunes, and we will head toward a desert oasis inside the dunes. Next, our guide will lead us toward the Nomads tents. We will be welcomed with tea at their tent, and we will together explore and get to know their culture and their way of life in the middle of the desert. The Nomad, will prepare what is known as ‘’Berber Pizza’’ which is a hand prepared kind of bread full of vegies and meat from the inside and it is cooked by being buried under fire.
After lunch, we will leave the nomads toward our desert luxury camp crossing the rocky landscapes by the dunes. We will arrive the camp evening, and you will be welcomed to your private tent where you can shower and take a rest from your trekking journey. The camp is located inside the dunes if you choose to watch the sunset, you can just walk to the nearest dune and enjoy your sunset. After sunset, you will be served dinner at any time you choose, and then we will set around the fire place and enjoy a Berber music show under the stars.
Today, a morning walk to the tallest dune nearby to enjoy a spectacular sunrise, then shower and breakfast before we leave the desert camp. As we leave the desert, our first stop will be in Rissani town which is used to be one of Morocco first trading posts of gold and slaves. The city also is an important commercial point with its crowded Souks and local markets. We will take a walk in the Souks and enjoy the authentic way of life that this small city offers.
Our way then, continues toward Tinghir, a former trading place for the caravans many hundred years ago. Few kilometres from the city, we will arrive the Todgha Gorges. A natural rock formation of 300 meters canyons forming a limestone path filled with water coming from the roots of the Anti-Atlas Mountains.
Next, we drive through the road of thousands of Kasbahs to reach the country of figs; Dedes. A beautiful scenery filled with different dramatic landscapes along the Dades valley. We will spend the night inside the Dades Gorges and enjoy a spectacular view of the green fields filled with a lot of fig, and walnut trees.
After breakfast, we will continue our tour toward Marrakech. We will drive via the Imgoun valley or the valley of roses and Skoura Oases. A pleasant stop in the Oases to visit the famous Amridil Kasbahs from the 17th century, one of Morocco’s most authentic Kasbahs.
Our way continues to Ouarzazate city known as Cinema capital of Morocco since it is a Hollywood backdrop of many international movies and series. We will visit the Touaririrt Kasabah one of the city’s main sights.
Next, we drive for fewer kilometers to arrive to the famous kasbahs of Ait-Benhaddou. A Unesco-protected red mudbrick village which most of its building’s dates back to the caravan’s era in the 11th century. This fortified village is also a significant backdrop for many famous films and series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Next, we will drive to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains, we will enjoy the dramatic scenery of the Tizi N’tichka pass 2260m. Once we reach Marrakech, we will drop you at your accommodation inside the old city of Marrakech.
Our official local guide will meet you at your Riad and start your Marrakech adventure. You will start your walking tour from the main square Djemaa El-Fna, a UNESCO declared sight which represent the true authenticity of Moroccan culture; a drama in progress. The Halqa (street theatre), acrobats, snake-charmers, musical performers, and Henna tattoo artists etc.…
Next, our guide will introduce you to Marrakech’s one of the main sights, Kotoubia Mosque; built in the 12th century.
A short walk to another Morocco’s top sights Badi Palace; a beautiful ruin from the 16th century.
Visit the beautiful sight of Bahia Palace which is a true magnificent Moroccan decoration built in 1908.
Our guide then, will escort you to the Saadian tombs. A historic royal necropolis in Marrakech from the 16th century. Then, your tour continues to the Souks; Marrakech’s most colorful markets.
When you are done touring the old city, you will move the new part of Marrakech where we will visit the famous Majorelle Gardens and Yves Saint Laurent museum. At the end of the tour, our guide will escort you back to your Riad inside the Medina, and it time for you to rest and prepare yourself for your flight back home the next day.
For your transfer to the airport, we offer it for free to Marrakech airport or Casablanca airport, and after we arrange the time and the selected airport, we will pick you from your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
