We pick up all travelers from their accommodation in Marrakech area
Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village has served as the backdrop for many Hollywood productions, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. Historically, it was also a strategic fortress on the ancient caravan routes linking Sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakech. We will then continue to Ouarzazate, where we will make a photo stop at the Taourirt Kasbah. The journey will then lead us along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Skoura Oasis, the Valley of Roses, and charming Berber villages. Overnight in Dades Gorges (HB).
After breakfast, we will drive to Tinghir, a historic trading hub for ancient caravans. Inside the old city, the Jewish quarter and cemetery still stand as a reminder of its rich cultural heritage. We will then continue to the spectacular Todgha Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise up to 300 meters. After a short walk inside the gorges, we will drive to Erfoud, known as the city of dates and fossils. We will arrive at the Merzouga Desert before sunset and make a quick stop at a hotel near the sand dunes, where you will switch from the car to camels. The camel ride to your desert camp will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, with scenic stops along the way for unforgettable photos. Upon arrival at the camp, you can enjoy a hot shower, followed by dinner and a traditional live music performance around the campfire. Overnight in Tiziri Camp OR Eden Camp (HB).
After enjoying the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, breakfast will be served before beginning our adventure to explore the Sahara Desert. We will set off on a 4x4 off-road tour, visiting the Merzouga Oasis and meeting a nomadic family in their traditional Berber tent. We will also visit the Gnawa village, home to a community with rich West African heritage, where we will experience their unique spiritual music. Afterward, we will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant before continuing to a fascinating fossil site, where ancient marine fossils are visible on the surface of volcanic rocks. By the end of the day, we will transfer you to your hotel along the dune lines, where you can relax by the pool and unwind. In the evening, you will head to the camp to enjoy a magical night under the desert sky. Overnight in the Merzouga Desert at Tiziri Camp or Eden Camp (HB).
Today, you will return to the hotel either by camel or by 4x4, according to your preference. From the hotel, we will drive to the city of Erfoud and then head toward the Ziz Oasis. We will make a short stop to enjoy the panoramic views of the oasis before continuing to Midelt for lunch. Afterward, we will drive to the Azrou Forest to see the Barbary Macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. Next, we will visit the city of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and make a brief stop there before continuing to Fes, one of the oldest medieval cities in the world. Upon arrival, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Fes.
