Emperor Jahangir built his celebrated Shalimar Bagh, his dream project to please his queen. He enlarged the ancient garden in 1619 into a royal garden and called it ‘Farah Baksh’ (‘the delightful’). He built it for his wife Nur Jahan (‘light of the world’)
The Nishat Bagh is a 12 terraced garden located near Srinagar's famous Dal Lake. It was built by the elder brother of Empress Noor Jahan named Asif Khan who also designed the layout of the gardens and it is opened in year 1633.. The garden lies on the banks of Dal Lake with mountain Zabarwan as its backdrop
This is one of the Mughal gardens built in 1632 AD around a spring by Ali Mardan Khan, a governor of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It was a gift for his eldest son Prince Dara Shikoh.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one of the oldest shrines in the Kashmir Valley. It is named after the great philosopher, Shankaracharya, who visited the valley about 10 centuries ago.
We will visit the most famous mosque in Srinagar. According to local beliefs, it houses Moi-e-Muqqadas – the sacred hair of Prophet Muhammad's beard. The Hazratbal Mosque is distinctive for being the only domed mosque in Srinagar, showcasing a blend of Mughal and Kashmiri architectural styles. Its striking white marble façade and serene surroundings contribute to its status as a peaceful place of worship and reflection.
We will take a Shikara or wooden boat and ride on the Dal Lake, which is a"Jewel in the crown of Kashmir". The lake is famous for its colorful houseboats which provide unique accommodation and are intricately decorated and offer a glimpse into the traditional Kashmiri lifestyle.
