Our guide will bring you to Mayong, a village steeped in folklore and legends for centuries. We will meet local residents and talk about powerful sorcerers from the past who practiced magic here, including spells that could make people disappear, transform humans into animals, or tame wild beasts. The village's association with black magic is even mentioned in epics like the Mahabharata, where Ghatotkacha is said to have derived his magical powers from Mayon. We will also learn about how the villagers have adapted with times to become healers. Mayong today is renowned for its traditional healing practices, which often incorporate elements of black magic and witchcraft. The village is home to practitioners known as Bez or Oja, who use a combination of natural ingredients, herbs, and ancient mantras to heal various ailments.
