  Golden Temple

  Jallianwala Bagh

  From here proceed to the legendary site of Jalliawala Bagh, an exact spot where thousands of innocent Sikh people were killed on the orders of General Reginald Dyer in 1919 on the day of major Sikh festival in Baisakhi. The walls with bullet marks are still standing, screaming history. Let your guide explain to you about the massacre and how the event changed the course of history. During the tour Stop for a gastronomic break at a local restaurant and devour the flavors of Amritsari Kulcha (hot potato bread) and chilled Punjabi Lassi (sweetened yogurt). After soaking in so much history, walk through the bustle of Amritsari Bazaars and return to the point we started.

  The Partition Museum

  The Partition Museum, located in Amritsar’s town hall, holds stories, documents, and materials related to the partition of British India in 1947. It captures the violence and turmoil of the mass migration and upheaval that followed the division into India and Pakistan.
