we will take you on an adventure from Fes to Marrakech through the Sahara Desert with a camel trek and overnight in a nomad camp. Our private tours will cater to your needs and can accommodate 2 - 6 people. Your private driver will provide history and cultural information while visiting the most notable historical and cultural sites. Your guide will pick up from your hotel in Fes at 08:0am and depart for the south of Morocco. You will stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, to enjoy its beauty and take photos.
You will head toward Azrou to see the playful monkeys in the cedar forest.
We will continue to Midelt and stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we will cross the pass of Tizi n Tlghamt to reach Errachidia while admiring the views of Ziz Gorge. Later on, we will stop for a panoramic view of Ziz valley. After lunch, we will pass through Erfoud, the Moroccan capital city of fossils
Arrive in Merzouga for the overnight and dinner.
In the morning, we start our tour around the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will visit a berber house and listen to some Gnawa music originally from Ghana and Sudan. We will visit some deserted mines, Berber nomads, and oasis of palm trees. For lunch, we will head back to Merzouga. After relaxing for a time we will go for the camels that are waiting to take us on an adventure in the sand dunes. Before we leave for the desert, the camels will be packed with water, food, blankets, and everything else which we will need for the trip. Each person will have their own camel and the ride will take 1.5 hours to reach the inside the dunes. You will arrive to your own private tent, and then you can walk in the dunes to watch the beautiful sunset and try sand boarding on the sand dunes. After seeing the sun set, you will go down back to the camp to enjoy mint tea (what we call Moroccan Berber Whiskey!). Then you will have your meal of delicious Moroccan Berber tagine in the camp. After dinner, the party will start. Local Berber nomad musicians will play traditional music with drums and dancing. Afterwards, you will watch the magical sky full of stars and enjoy the peaceful desert. Dinner and overnight in luxury nomad camp.
Awake in the morning to the gentle calling of your guide to see the sun rise over the dunes of the Sahara. We will ride camels back from Desert Camp to Merzouga for breakfast and showers. Leaving for Todra Gorge, we will drive off-road drive across the hamada (black Desert) to get to the Sahara town of Rissani to visit the animated local market. Afterwards, we head north to Erfoud, known for its fossils, and can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to the impressive Todra canyons. Rock climbing (additional reservations may be required) and hiking is available in the canyons before heading to the hotels for dinner and our overnight stay.
After breakfast in the hotel, we begin our journey along the road of Thousand Kasbahs, viewing the enormous kasbahs on both sides of the road. We pass through Dades Valley and go up to the mountainous area through an off-road trail where there are many Berber villages and nomads living in caves. Here, we will have the chance to visit one of this families, take a look at their daily life, and learn about their main activity: looking after herds of goats and sheep. You’ll enjoy the impressive landscapes of the Valley of the Roses before we reach Skoura palm grove, and then Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will visit Taourirt Kasbah before departing to Ait Benhaddou.
We will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, famous for films such as The Man Who Would Be King, Jewel of the Nile, Jesus of Nazareth, The Message, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Gladiator.
We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech.
