Depart from your hotel in Zhangjiajie in the mid-afternoon and set off for Furong Town. The journey takes about 2–2.5 hours, during which our professional English-speaking tour guide will share interesting stories, historical facts, and unique cultural knowledge about Zhangjiajie, making the drive both relaxing and informative. On arrival, follow the guide to the 5-Li Stone Slab Street first. You will walk on the century-old bluestone road polished smooth by years of footsteps, which is also a famous filming location of the movie Furong Town. Along the street, you can see traditional Tujia stilted buildings standing closely against the mountain, browse local shops selling Tujia brocade, bamboo weaving, and other handcrafts, and catch glimpses of the lively daily life of the townsfolk.

2Phoenix Ancient Town
As night falls, arrive at Phoenix Ancient Town, a place that truly comes alive after dark. The town’s ancient architecture is bathed in a soft, golden glow, creating a magical atmosphere that seems straight out of a fairytale. Explore the Illuminated Streets: Stroll along the cobblestone alleys lined with traditional shops and cafes. Admire the intricately lit stilted buildings, their reflections shimmering on the surface of the Tuo River. Pass through the historic North Gate Tower and feel the weight of centuries of history under your feet. For an unforgettable experience, embark on a Tuo River night cruise. Board a traditional wooden boat and glide along the tranquil waters, surrounded by the town’s illuminated skyline. Listen to the gentle lapping of the water and the distant melodies of Miao folk songs as you take in the breathtaking views. The sight of lantern - lit bridges and buildings reflected in the river is a sight you’ll cherish forever.
