  Upon arrival at Mogao Grottoes, you will follow the official arrangement of the Mogao Grottoes Museum to visit designated caves and exhibition halls. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mogao Grottoes is the world’s largest, most well-preserved treasure house of Buddhist art with a history spanning over 1,000 years, playing an irreplaceable role in recording the cultural exchanges of the ancient Silk Road.   Mingsha Shan - Echoing-Sand Mountain

  After exploring Mogao Grottoes, we proceed to Singing Sand Dunes (Mingsha Mountain)—a 20-minute private car ride away. Renowned for its unique natural feature: when the wind blows over the sand dunes, it produces a low, melodious humming sound like singing, hence its name. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the magnificent and boundless Gobi desert scenery—golden sand dunes stretching as far as the eye can see, contrasting beautifully with the clear blue sky. Optional activities are available here at your own expense, including camel riding (a classic way to experience the desert), sandboarding, and hiking to the top of the dunes for a panoramic view of the desert landscape.

  Next, we move on to Crescent Moon Spring, a natural wonder nestled at the foot of Singing Sand Dunes—just a short walk from the sand dunes entrance. This ancient oasis is famous for its crescent-like shape that has remained unchanged for thousands of years, surrounded by towering sand dunes yet never drying up, forming a stunning contrast between desert and water. Here, you can stroll along the boardwalk beside the spring, admire the clear water reflecting the sand dunes and green plants, take photos of this rare desert scenery, and learn from your guide about the geological formation and legendary stories of this magical spring.
