The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses

Your professional tour guide will greet you at your hotel lobby to kick off the day’s adventure, first leading you to the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and the Terracotta Army—the world-renowned "Eighth Wonder of the World". This extraordinary site reveals the unparalleled grandeur of China’s very first imperial mausoleum. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll explore the three main exhibition pits: Pit 1, the grandest of all, features more than 6,000 terracotta warriors arrayed in imposing battle formations; Pit 2 showcases a vivid mix of terracotta cavalry, chariots and archers; Pit 3, widely believed to be the military command center of the terracotta army, houses fewer figures but each is exquisitely preserved. You’ll get up close to the terracotta warriors, marvel at the unique facial features and intricate armor details of every single figure, and experience the astonishing craftsmanship of Qin Dynasty artisans firsthand.

Your next stop is the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a towering Tang Dynasty landmark with a history of over 1,300 years. Initially constructed to preserve the Buddhist scriptures, sacred statues and cultural relics that the famous Monk Xuanzang brought back to China after his 17-year pilgrimage to India, the pagoda stands as a lasting symbol of ancient cultural exchanges between China and India. Wander through the serene grounds of the pagoda, admire its magnificent 7-story brick structure, and take in the tranquil ambiance of the adjacent Daci’en Temple.

Step onto the 12-meter-wide top of the wall and walk along the weathered gray-brick paths with your guide, passing ancient watchtowers and crenellations that have stood the test of time. Gaze down at the bustling streets below, where traditional old alleys blend seamlessly with modern cityscapes, and run your hands over the aged brick walls to feel the profound weight of Xi’an’s long history. At the end of a day filled with historical exploration, your driver and guide will escort you back to your hotel for a rest.
