Keila-Joa - the manor of the former minister of secret service of the Russian empire of the 1830s. He fell in love with its place due to the beautiful waterfall and then made a family nest with french parks, artificial islands, and suspended bridges where we still lock marriage locks. We will have time for hiking around the park and its waterfall.
Paldiski, the former Soviet closed military town of a nuclear submarine base, is open for travelers and shows you some of the Tzar histories. It was established in the 1720s by the Russian Emperor Peter the Great as an important non-freezing navy port. We will visit a very cozy Orthodox church and, a couple of lighthouses and climb them to cover technogenic views to a bay, islands, ports, and a windmill farm. And then discuss our impressions during lunch in the former Tzar customs. By your wish, we open a local town museum to learn more about the tzar military staff, suits, and art. In summer time it is welcome to drive a convertable car over the seashore.
Padise Abbey is the best-preserved medieval monastery in Northern Europe, dating back to the 1350s. We will admire its impregnability and can visit its museum to dive into haunted rooms with spooky legends. Much later it turned into a noble manor with picturesque ponds and parks.
Rummu Quarry Prison is the most trendy hipster area in Estonia. Having recovered from the prison legacy it offers you many workouts such as diving through flooded prison staff, rafting, base jumping, hiking over the impressive dolomite waste heap, and open-air concerts at the shade of it. In case of good weather, we can keep the time for swimming in the quarry and coffee break at the cafe near it.
Keila town of 10,000 people is rich in its nice parks, baroque architecture (such as the railway station), the tallest rural church in Estonia (open on Sundays), and some more non-obvious objects, which are worth seeing.
Huuru Watermill is open as a family fishing trout farm and a suitable place to finalize our trip over North-western Estonia during the tea-coffee break.
