Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is one of the most popular travel destinations in Mongolia, located about 70 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar. The park is famous for its stunning natural landscapes, including beautiful mountains, valleys, rivers, and unique rock formations such as the famous Turtle Rock. Visitors can explore wide open grasslands, go horseback, enjoy hiking, or visit nomadic families to experience the traditional Mongolian lifestyle. The park is also home to Buddhist landmarks, such as the Aryabal Meditation Temple, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding nature. With its fresh air, scenic beauty, and rich culture, Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is an ideal place for relaxation and adventure in Mongolia.
The Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex, located at Tsonjin Boldog about 55 km east of Ulaanbaatar, is one of Mongolia’s most iconic landmarks. It features a giant 40-meter-tall stainless steel statue of Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan) on horseback, symbolizing his power and legacy. Visitors can enter the statue, take an elevator up to the horse’s head, and enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding steppe. The complex also includes a museum, exhibition halls, and cultural displays about the life and history of the Mongolian Empire. The site is a must-visit destination for travelers who want to learn about Mongolia’s rich history and admire one of the world’s largest equestrian statues.
