Hit the road bright and early and head south. The first stop of the day will be Ifrane, Morocco’s “Little Switzerland”. Then, we drive through the cedar forests of Arzou, make sure to look out for Barbary apes, who live in these trees. Cross Ziz Valley and its dramatic gorges, visiting the villages of Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, take a dirt road into the desert until you get to the small village of Merzouga in the southeast of Morocco. You will spend the night in a hotel at the edge of the sandy dunes.
Explore the desert for a whole day. Plow through the endless fields of dunes on your 4×4, visit Nomad settlements, marvel at various oasis. charming village of Khamlia, famous for the Gnawa music group which you will also visit. As the sun sets, climb on to a camel and enjoy a slight bumpy ride to the Berber desert camp/luxury , where you spend the night under shining stars.
