    Train Cemetery

    We begin the tour knowing an open-air museum of the Old Train Cemetery that is located on the edge of the city; where we can remember and imagine the glorious mining era of the region.

    Colchani

    In the town of Colchani we will be able to appreciate how the locals take part of the extracted salt and, being carried away by the imagination, they use it in the elaboration of handicrafts. Creating different things such as picture frames, jewelry boxes, local animals and other accessories where they capture the Andean landscapes. You can also find beautiful textiles, traditional fabrics and functional or decorative ceramics.

    Salar de Uyuni

    The wonderful Salar de Uyuni known as the largest salt desert in the world, is like a mirror that reflects the sky. Surrounded by mountains and volcanoes that reach 5000 meters above sea level. Where on our way we can observe fantastic optical illusions that are accentuated in the rainy season and also the “Ojos de Agua”, small eruptions of salt that will help us to know the process of formation of this infinite sea of salt. We will also visit the “Hotel de Sal”, the first of its kind, which currently functions as a museum.

    Isla Incahuasi

    We arrive at Incahuasi Island in the center of the salt flat, where we can observe large populations of cacti, sea rock fossils, local fauna and spectacular views of the salt flat from the top of the island. Then we will go to the hostel "La Cabaña de Sal" in the town of San Juan, where we will rest until the next day

    Volcano- Desert- Lagoon

    Volcan Ollague

    We will have breakfast and then leave at around 8:00 am. A.M. Starting with a visit to the Ollagüe Volcano, located on the border of Bolivia and Chile, in the Andes Mountains with a height of 5868 meters above sea level. To the south are the lagoons of Cañapa, Hedionda, where there are a large number of flamingos and other species of birds, such as geese and Andean seagulls. These lagoons surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes, accompanied by a green skirt, are a wonderful landscape where you can take very beautiful photos.

    Siloli Desert

    It is characterized by its rock formations as a result of the strong winds that the region presents, such as the stone tree. The desert is considered one of the driest in the world due to the low rainfall that occurs in the area.

    Laguna Colorada

    The red lagoon is characterized as the main center of nesting of three different species of flamingos. Where also algae and plankton, activated by solar radiation and the wind, give them their characteristic color. Then we will conclude our day by going to the LATITUDES Shelter

    Geiser Sol de la Manana

    Inside the Eduardo Abaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, we will go in search of the well-known Sol de Mañana Geysers. This is the highest point on the route, at about 5000 m. The cold is intense. You will see pools where the earth seems to boil in a mixture of red, gray and scarlet mud. We will cross its banks very carefully where you can take photos of that unique landscape if you want

    The desert and Salar de Chalviri is another scene of great landscape value that combines white snow, Ocher desert, blue water and white borax. In one corner, we can take a bath in the Termas de Polques and enjoy a wonderful lunch.

    Laguna Verde

    Finally, leaving this desert valley, we will visit another charming place such as the Green Lagoon, at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. The white color of the salt flat, the brown of the volcano, which depending on the time of year may be snowy and the emerald green salty water, is a whole set, which make the place a true postcard. Finally we will finish with our tours, some if they wish, can do it in Pedro de Atacama Chile or return to Uyuni at approximately 6:00 p.m.
