Yelapa Hidden Waterfall Adventure

Discover a different side of Yelapa and venture beyond the traditional tourist routes. While most visitors stay around the village or visit the main waterfall near town, this experience takes us deep into the jungle toward Cathedral Waterfall, a beautiful hidden waterfall surrounded by tropical vegetation, natural trails, and the constant sounds of the river.
Our adventure begins in downtown Puerto Vallarta, where we’ll take public transportation to Boca de Tomatlán. From there, we’ll board a public water taxi, since Yelapa can only be reached by boat. Once we arrive at the beach, we’ll begin an approximately 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) round-trip hike through the village and gradually into the jungle.
Along the way, we’ll experience natural landscapes, jungle paths, rivers, and a much more authentic and adventurous side of the region. To reach the waterfall, we’ll cross the river twice, making the journey even more exciting and connected with nature. Once there, we’ll have time to relax, swim, and enjoy the surroundings before heading back.
