1Lake Lucerne
As your journey toward the idyllic town of Vitznau commences, you’ll get to soak up the magnificent panoramic scenery offered by an assortment of captivating Swiss landscapes, including Mount Pilatus, Burgentock, the Glarus Alps, and Lucerne’s beautiful vineyards. You’ll traverse the luscious meadows that characterize the Reuss Valley before encountering the steep cliffs that peer above the Urnersee. The cruise will then arrive at the lake’s deepest point, the Gersauer Becken (‘Basin of Gersau’), before taking an exhilaratingly sharp turn through the narrow opening between the Unter Nas (‘Lower Nose’) of the Bürgenstock and the Ober Nas (‘Upper Nose’) of the Rigi. As the cruise crosses this picturesque intersection, you’ll have the opportunity to take in the dreamy landscapes presented by Vitznauer Bucht, Küssnachtersee, Luzernersee, and other stunning lake areas. The voyage will continue through the narrow pass between Pilatus and Stanssad.

2Mount Rigi
After arriving at Vitznau, you’ll begin the second chapter of your marvelous Swiss exploration. As you ascend on a spectacular train ride to Mount Rigi, our knowledgeable tour guide will enlighten you about the rich historical heritage that embodies these local landscapes. Once you journey up Mount Rigi, which is an astonishing 1,752 meters (5,748 feet) above sea level, you’ll be revitalized by refreshingly crisp air that sweeps the mountain tops as you encounter vintage steam locomotives from the 1920s. Our tour guide will share their knowledge of the Rigi railways, enabling you to gain exclusive insights into the painstaking construction that created the extraordinary Vitznau-Rigi Railway, which extends for 6.975 km (4.334 mi). You’ll additionally learn about famous, innovative Swiss engineers responsible for these iconic railways, including Niklaus Riggenbach.
