What to expect

1. Village Welcome & Garden Tour
Your experience begins with a warm welcome to a traditional Chagga village at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We’ll start in the organic "Shamba" (farm), where you’ll learn about local crops and hand-pick the fresh ingredients needed for your meal, such as green bananas, local spinach, and spices.

2. Traditional Wood-Fire Cooking
Roll up your sleeves! Under the guidance of a local mama, you will learn how to peel, chop, and prepare authentic dishes using traditional methods. You’ll cook over an open wood fire, mastering the art of the famous "Machalari" (Chagga banana stew) or a flavorful Swahili Pilau.

3. The Feast
After the hard work comes the reward. You will sit down with your hosts to share the delicious meal you’ve prepared. This is the perfect time to chat, learn about life on the mountain, and enjoy the true taste of Tanzanian hospitality.

4. Hand-Roasted Coffee Ceremony
No Kilimanjaro meal is complete without coffee. You will participate in the entire process: pounding the dried beans, roasting them over the fire, and finally enjoying the freshest cup of organic Arabica coffee you’ve ever tasted.
