Flores Island has a size of 14.125 square metres and the landscape is very mountainous. It is the biggest island in Nusa Tenggara. The length of the island is 380 kilometres and it is between 26 and 270 kilometres wide. By distance, it can be reached from the west to East within 24 hours. However, Flores is very Mountainous and located in volcanic zone make it interesting to be discovered. This 4 day-tour will allow you to visit and experience the highlight of Flores especially to whom love nature and culture and at the same time having sufficient time for holiday. As it is a private tour, we are open to your individual needs, request, and interest. Feel free to contact us. The tour can be started either from Labuan Bajo to Ende or Maumere depending much on your flight.

    Day 1

    Labuan Bajo-Dintor

    This morning you will be picked up by your guide and driver from your hotel in Labuan Bajo to begin the half-day’s drive to Dintor on the south coast of Flores. Halfway. You will reach Lembor, where you can choose to have lunch, or. Have it prepared ‘to go’.

    From Lembor, you will continue on to Nangalili beach for a picnic by the sea. Then continue on, following the coast line (a slow and bumpy drive) to reach the small village of Dintor. There you sill spend the night in the Wae Rebo Lodge, set in the midst of a paddy field with views across the fields and the sea to Mules Island. Dinner tonight is at the lodge

    Dintor-Wae Rebo

    Today you are able to visit the beautiful, remote village of Wae Rebo. You begin your adventure with a short drive up the bottom slopes of the mountain to the village of Denge, from where you hop on the back of a motorcycle for the 10-minute ride further up the mountain to post 1, the starting point for your 5 km hike up the mountain to Wae Rebo. You will be following a stone-laid path, and then a well-trodden forest path to reach the village, but be prepared for a tough uphill hike with sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes. Upon arrival at the lovely village of Wae Rebo, you will be welcomed by Wae Lu’u ritualthat requests permission, and provides blessings from the village ancestors. Your lunch is in the village. Your afternoon is then free for further exploring, visiting local homes, learning more about their customs and traditions, and just enjoying the beauty of this amazing location. Overnight will be in one of Wae Rebo’s cone-shaped traditional home, shared with other visitors.

    Bajawa-Ruteng

    If you wish rise early to catch the beautiful sunrise, and then after breakfast, head back down the mountain to the lodge where you leave your main bag, and take the opportunity for a chance to freshen-up, before continuing your journey with the drive to Ruteng. Along this 3 1⁄2 hour drive you will have a number of stops at interesting spots along the way, including a visit to the spider web rice fields at Cancar, and a delicious local lunch of "Se’I babi" (the popular East Nusa Tenggara dish of smoked pork).

    A mountain city Ruteng is great city for stopover. As a home and center of Economic city of Manggarai, Ruteng is where all the farmers bring their crops for sale. Of course you will be able to see this when visit its traditional market which is open from 6 am to 7 pm. In here, you will have a look of any variety of tropical fruits, bulbs, herbs and spices, and a lot more including to witness locals who are busy going to shop in the market.

    Ruteng-Bajawa

    Start the morning with a short drive to a spectacular lookout over a sea of rice terraces stretching across the valleys and up the slopes of the mountains that surround Ruteng, and then continue on to drive to Rana Mese Lake.

    from Ruteng, you will drive for 30 minutes to Rana Mese lake for a short walk along the shoreline, and then through the lush rainforest to see a waterfall surrounded by rich jungle.

    You will drive for 5 minutes from the restaurant to Aimere, a small town located in the south part of Bajawa where Arak wine is processed traditionally. As Flores is well known for its Arak, almost each regency has their typical Arak or in Flores called "Sopi". Aimere is one of the biggest center of distillation of Arak. In here, you will see how the process from beginning like juice to become Arak from small percentage of 15 % to 50%. Almost all the people in this area rely much on Arak as their main income because Arak in Flores is one of the biggest parts to be possessed when having small or big ceremony.

    Your next stop is Belaraghi traditional village which has stunning view of savannah on the way to this village. Belaraghi is located in a green and lush forest surrounded by local agriculture that will make a pleasant experience for you.

    Bajawa

    You will stay 2 nights in Bajawa to discover great nature and unique culture. You will start the tour with a trekking to the top of Avatar Hill, 12 km from your hotel. It takes you 30 minutes to walk to the top of the hill where you can see the amazing view of Mount Inerie surrounded by breathtaking view of cliffs that look like Avatar mountain in the movie The Last Airbender.

    From Avatar Hill, you will then depart for the short drive to the village of the Bena, the oldest and biggest traditional village in all of Flores. In the village take some time to see the ancient building methods used here and to learn about the locals live their daily lives.

    After Bena, you will drive few minutes to Heaven's Door Bar & Restaurant near to Bena for having lunch in a restaurant that has beautiful viewpoint on its back yard to see the panorama of the mount Inerie and villages coupled with the locals' agriculture.

    Bajawa-Moni

    In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, before leaving for Moni for 6 hours drive, you will make a short drive to Ogi waterfall to enjoy morning view from this incredible high waterfall with an easy walk through the rice paddy and vegetable garden to the waterdrops.

    From Ogi, you will be back to trans Flores or the highway to continue on to drive to Moni with a stop at Blue Stone Beach in Nagepanda to enjoy the view of the south sea with its unique blue stones added with the taste of fresh seafood culinary from the local restaurant.

    From Nagepanda, you will continue on to drive to Detusoko to enjoy the rice field view from local café while enjoying coffee. your journey to Moni will be 30 minutes left.

    Moni-Ende

    Your adventure continues with an early 4 am start today for the short drive to the base of Kelimatu, from where you have a 30-minute hike to the mountain peak (1600 m). From the peak yu can then watch the sun rise over the coloured lakes, a memory that will last a life time. Then head back to your hotel for a shower and breakfast, before continuing on for the last leg of your journey to reach Ende.
