What to expect

Italy is known all over the world for its Prosecco, but not only... bubbles are loved throughout Italy and therefore high quality sparkling wines can be found in many regions, such as Lombardy, Trentino, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna .
We will taste 3 sparkling wines produced with 3 different methods.

Wonderful sparkling wines can be found in almost all Italian regions. Of course, there are cultivation areas that are more famous and suitable than others, such as Veneto (Prosecco), Lombardy (Franciacorta, Oltrepò-Pavese Classic Method), Piedmont (Asti, Alta Langa), Trentino (Trentodoc) and Emilia-Romagna (Lambrusco), but there are also less known areas from north to south.

To better understand the differences between sparkling wines, we will learn about the different production methods (which influence the price and quality), the production area, the history and the local traditions.

We will taste together 3 sparkling wines produced with:
1 ancestral method
1 martinotti or charmat method
1 classic method

During the tasting we will also clarify various specific terms of sparkling wine, such as "dosage", "perlage", "charmat method", "traditional method" and much more.
