Lights, Flavour, Action is an evening food and city tour told like a live movie — where every street is a set, every flavour drives the story, and Mumbai plays herself.
We begin at Shivaji Park, with sea breeze and sunset setting the scene. First bites: a fiery Vada Pav and a buttery Punjabi Samosa from a 100-year-old stall. We board a local train to Girgaon Chowpatty for classic beach snacks — Pani Puri, Bhel Puri, and indulgent Pav Bhaji.
Next, we explore Chor Bazaar and enter Bohri Mohalla, where we begin with a creamy Malai Sweet, followed by the legendary Chicken Baida Roti. A local bus takes us into Fort, where colonial facades glow at night. At a century-old Parsi café, we enjoy comforting Keema Pav.
The tour ends at Marine Drive, under curving lights and a sea breeze.
The city exhales. And the credits roll.
Meeting point is just outside Costa Coffee Shop, available on Gmaps.
Tour ends opposite Pizza By the Bay Restaurant.
We’ll start off with a leisurely stroll through the park, where the air is filled with the sounds of children playing cricket, joggers on their routine, and friends and families chatting. Known for producing some of the best cricketing legends, this park is more than just a green space—it’s a vibrant slice of life that reflects the neighbourhood’s unique character and the stories that have shaped it. Our first taste of Mumbai’s flavour will be the iconic Vada Pav from a legendary Shivaji Park joint, the perfect opening scene to our culinary journey. Next, we’ll savour the flavourful Samosa from a special eatery that has been serving this beloved snack for over 100 years, playing a significant role in Mumbai’s culinary history.
As our plot thickens, our journey continues at Dadar Railway Station—one of the busiest and most energetic places in Mumbai. Your guide will walk you through this exciting scene, where the famous “super dense crush load” is something, you have to see to believe. But instead of getting caught in the crowd, we do the unexpected—we catch a train going the other way, heading south as the rest of the city rushes home.
We arrive at Girgaon Chowpatty, where the hustle and bustle of the city fade away, and the atmosphere shifts. Families gather to enjoy the evening, the waves gently roll in, and the smell of street food fills the air. We take it all in, trying some classic Mumbai snacks like tangy Sev Puri, Bhel Puri, or Pani Puri. After soaking in the beach vibes, we head to a legendary joint known for serving the city’s best Pav Bhaji—a flavour-packed dish that’s been a part of Mumbai’s Street food history for years. With the last bite, the true taste of Mumbai lingers as the city lights begin to shine.
Next, we hop into an iconic black and yellow taxi and head to a legendary neighbourhood known for its unique food culture—Bohri Mohalla. Amid the sounds of honking cars and bustling crowds, we arrive at a place where tradition meets flavour. Here, we try a rare local specialty—Chicken Baida Roti—from a legendary joint that has perfected it over decades. And just when you think the evening can’t get better, we walk over to a nearby parlour that's been serving the best ice cream in Mumbai since 1887—a sweet ending to a flavourful detour.
After that, we catch a local bus—the familiar hum of Mumbai’s heart—as we make our way towards the historic Fort area. Just around the corner, we take a dive into the rich legacy of the Zoroastrian community. Amidst beautifully lit imperial structures, we arrive at a legendary Parsi eatery that’s been around for over a century. Here, we pause to savour a signature dish—Keema Pav—served with heart, history, and just the right hint of nostalgia. It’s a quiet, reflective moment that connects us to a timeless Mumbai.
Our final cab ride takes us through the historic Fort area, where beautiful old buildings, bathed in soft light, stand as quiet witnesses to Mumbai’s rich past. The journey culminates at Marine Drive, the iconic Queen’s Necklace. The cool breeze from the sea brushes against our skin, and the city lights shimmer, creating the perfect closing scene to our story.
