    Asan Tole is one of the Oldest daily markets of Kathmandu Valley. Junction of six streets, the market attracts locals for everything a Nepali needs to run a daily life from Yogurt to Yak's tail. It is here Cat Stevens wrote and compose his "Kathmandu" song in Hippy era-song in one of the tea-shop. It is a live Theatre for those who can meditate on the crowds and an opportunity for those who can stand the pushing and shoving of the crowds while shopping local things for relatively better price and quality.

    Jana Bahal is a temple of Avalokiteshwara on the way to Kathmandu Durbar Sqaure from Asan Tole. It is popular for Jana Baha Dyo (called Seto Machhindranath, Avalokiteshwara, Karunamaya). It is one of the oldest Vajrayana Buddhist Monasteries knows as Kanaka Chaitya Mahavihar. The name Kanak Chaitya Mahavihar is from a chaitya of Kanakmuni Buddha in front of the temple, erected in the courtyard.
