    Olympic Park

In 2008, the remarkable 29th Olympic Game was held in Beijing successfully. As the game site, the Olympic Park attracted the whole world’s eyes. It sat at the north end of the axis of the metropolis. The axis, the most important cultural vein of the city, masterly presents a blend of urban artificial sights with natural scenery. The most famous and beautiful buildings in the park are the National Stadium and the National Aquatics Center. The National Stadium is also called “The Bird’s Nest” due to its outlook. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics, and football finals of the Games. The stadium has room for 91,000 spectators. The National Aquatics Center is known as the Water Cube. It hosted the swimming, diving and synchronized swimming events. It has a capacity of 17,000 and is located next to the National Stadium.
