    Nagarkot Panoramic Hiking Trail

A gradual downhill walk along the mountain ridge passes through the Tamang villages, farming terraces, temples and monasteries. The trail overlooks the sprawling Kathmandu valley with snow peaks towards the north. It passes through the courtyards of Tamang people and allows you to have a close look into their daily chores. Many of them make rice wine in their backyard. They grow all kinds of vegetables in their garden. Tamang follow shamanism mixed with Buddhism. They are believed to have migrated from Tibet 1000 years ago.

    Bhaktapur

Visit the medieval city of Bhaktapur on the way back. A walk through the alleyways of Bhaktapur is like walking back into the time. Brick houses and monuments fitted with terracotta and wood carvings make it an open museum. Explore the charming neighborhoods with pavilions, sunken water spouts, temples and houses of gods and ponds and discover the palace square, peacock window, pottery square and the Nyatapola, the tallest temple of Nepal.
