You’ll be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech in the morning and driven to Imlil Valley (1,740m) — the gateway to the High Atlas Mountains. The scenic drive takes approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, you'll meet your local Berber mountain guide and enjoy a short welcome break with traditional Moroccan tea. Then, your trek begins toward the Toubkal basecamp at 3,207 meters. Along the way, you’ll pass through mountain landscapes and stop at the Chamharouch shrine, a spiritual site popular with pilgrims. Here, you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared lunch in the mountains. After your break, continue the steady uphill hike to the refuge (mountain hut) where you'll spend the night. The total walking time for the day is approximately 5 to 6 hours.
The next day is summit day, you will have breafast at the refuge, then you climb up to the summit 4167m. Moreover, it will take around 3h walk up, and around 2 to 3h down. In addition, you will get amazing views from the summit. After that, you walk back down to the refuge where you will have lunch before you hike back down via the same route to Imlil. It will take around 4 to 5h walk back down to Imlil. Today, you will be walking around 10 to 12h in total. Pick up and drive to Marrakech from Imlil. That’s the end of our 2 days toubkal trek.
