Experience a RIB adventure from Bergen to the Osterfjord and the narrow Mostraumen strait. The tour takes you through shifting coastal scenery, past steep mountainsides and into Mostraumen, a dramatic fjord passage.
A RIB boat brings you close to the elements — the speed, the fresh sea air, and the sensation of moving directly through the landscape. Along the way, you’ll pass small villages and impressive rock formations, with plenty of moments to slow down and take in the scenery.
For comfort and safety, all participants are equipped with warm floatation suits, life jackets, ski goggles, gloves, and hats — everything you need to enjoy the experience in any weather.
This tour is designed for individual travelers, families, and small groups looking for an exciting and memorable way to explore the fjords. Whether you’re seeking a touch of adventure or simply want to experience the Norwegian fjords up close, the Mostraumen Fjord Safari offers a refreshing and unforgettable journey.

Byfjorden (the Cityfjord), with its water depths ranging from about 5 to 350 meters frames the city of Bergen along its waterfront. It is also a natural landmark, visible from much of the city as it is situated between the seven mountains that encircle Bergen. The 15-kilometre (9.3 mi) long fjord separates the island of Askøy from the mainland Bergen, passing right north of the city of Bergen on the mainland.
The 4 kilometer long and up to 500 meter deep Salhusfjord is located between Bergen and Alver Municipality. The fjord is crossed by the Nordhordland Bridge. The fjord takes its name from the village area of Salhus. In the early 12th century there was an inn located there, known at the time as a sáluhus. It acted as a transport hub for Nordhordland, and was a small market town. It was one of the first industrialized places when a hosiery manufacturer was established here in 1859.
The Nordhordland Bridge crosses the Salhusfjord at a point where it is around 1300 meter wide and 500 meter deep. The bridge is a pontoon and cable-stayed bridge with one tower. Due to the depth of the sea beneath the bridge, lateral anchorage between the abutments at each end was not possible. To accommodate this unusual condition, there was a great deal of additional analysis in design of the footings at each end of the bridge. The free-floating bridge has the longest laterally-unsupported span in the world.
The Osterfjord is one of three fjords surrounding the island of Osterøy. The fjord runs along the municipal border of Lindås and Osterøy municipalities. The fjord begins at the Romarheimsfjorden and flows to the west for 27 kilometres (17 mi) before ending near the village of Knarvik at the confluence of four fjords: Osterfjorden, Radfjorden (to the north), Sørfjorden (to the south), and Salhusfjorden (to the west). The Osterfjorden is generally about 1 to 3 kilometres (0.62 to 1.86 mi) wide and the deepest point in the fjord reaches a depth of 639 metres (2,096 ft) below sea level
Canalized river with tidal water deep into the Osterfjord. The stream is about 600 metres long and between 50 and 60 meters wide at the most narrow place. Mostraumen was canalized (dredged) about 1913.
