What's Included

Filtered Water Tap. Please bring a water bottle for your water.
The kitchen gardens and orchards provide healthy and organic food which will be collected and served fresh. Meat is served Sunday mornings only - vegan, and vegetarian alternatives available.
Morning tea time
Access to the Gym - with equipment such as the general’s pole, punch bags, kicking dummies, weights, parallel bars, chin up bars, gymnastics rings, and more.

You will likely arrive at our lower parking lot. Follow the stepping stones down to the training areas to find our Reception. Ask to speak with Apple, our Student Care Manager, or continue to the Open Training areas to speak with an Instructor. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early, so at 5.45/5.50 AM.

What to expect

Do you want to look better, feel better and think better? Do you want to increase your confidence? Do you need to relax your mind as well as your body?

The Retreat's Shaolin Kung Fu and Qigong Training has been refined and developed since the school's opening in 2008. The program packs in the best elements of Chinese Kung Fu, Chi Kung, and meditation in a way which has proven to give students just what they want. Since most students are complete beginners in Kung Fu, the Instructors will get beginners off to a very strong start from day one. For those with experience, the instructors will push you ahead faster.

Please arrive 5 minutes before 6 AM.

6:00 AM - The lesson begins with the Tong Ling Chi Kung, Walking Meditation, and then Shuang Yang (Sun Frost White Crane Soft and Gentle Art).
7:50 AM - There is a break for Chinese Tea for discussion of training, philosophy, strategy, etc.
8:20 AM -
Sundays, Thursdays - self defense training.
Tuesdays - Kung Fu techniques: defending, attacking etc.
Mondays, Fridays - supervised practice on what you have learned earlier.
9:00 AM - Group Stretch.
9:15 AM - Breakfast is served.
