Hotel Hoi An City
We will cross Cua Dai Bridge, where you’ll enjoy a sweeping panoramic view of the river meeting the sea, one of the most scenic spots in the region. From the top of the bridge, you can witness the daily rhythm of local fishermen: small wooden boats returning from the early-morning sea journey, nets being pulled in, and baskets full of fresh seafood being transferred to shore. Your guide will explain the different fishing methods used in this area, from traditional cast nets to long-tail boats, and introduce you to the variety of fish and seafood that thrive in these coastal waters. It’s a perfect moment to pause, breathe in the fresh sea breeze, and capture beautiful photos of the vibrant river life below.
An Lương Fish Market – Duy Hải (Authentic Coastal Fishing Village). Next, we’ll visit An Lương Fish Market in Duy Hải, one of the most authentic coastal markets where local fishermen and vendors gather at dawn to trade the day’s catch. Unlike tourist-oriented markets, this is a genuine working space where you can observe the raw energy of a traditional fishing community. You’ll see heaps of freshly caught anchovies, mackerel, squid, shrimp, and crabs displayed right on bamboo baskets. Fishermen skillfully sort, clean, and weigh the seafood while buyers, mostly restaurant owners and local families—negotiate prices in a lively and friendly atmosphere.
Rice Wine Making we’ll take you to a family-run rice wine making house, where you’ll discover the full traditional process behind one of Vietnam’s oldest alcoholic beverages. You’ll see how steamed rice is mixed with natural yeast, placed into clay jars, and slowly fermented over several days to develop its distinct aroma. The owner will show you how the fermented rice is heated in small copper stills and how the condensed steam turns into clear, strong rice liquor. You’ll have the chance to smell the freshly fermented grains, learn about the different alcohol levels, and understand why every countryside family still keeps a bottle of homemade rice wine for celebrations, ceremonies, and gatherings. If you’d like, you can even taste a small sample to feel the warmth and character of this handmade spirit. Traditional Sleeping Mat Weaving (Hand-woven Mat House) Finally, we’ll stop at a traditional mat-weaving family, where you’ll get to see how colorful Vietnamese sleeping mats
Rice Paper & Local Noodle Making (Traditional Craft Village) Next, we’ll visit a local workshop where families have been making rice paper and noodles for generations. You’ll watch how rice is soaked, ground into a silky batter, then spread thinly over steaming cloth to create the famous Vietnamese rice paper used for spring rolls. After drying the sheets under the sun, they are cut into noodles, forming the base of many iconic dishes like cao lầu, phở khô, and mỳ Quảng.
