The drive along the coast is an experience in itself, leading to one of Oman’s most beautiful natural paradises: Wadi Shab. Lined with palm trees and banana plantations, an approximately 45-minute mountain trek takes you through an impressive canyon to natural pools of crystal-clear water. Please note: this is a moderately challenging mountain hike and not recommended for travelers with knee problems. Here you can swim in pleasantly tempered water all year round. At the end of the wadi, a small hidden waterfall awaits, which can be reached by swimming. Note: suitable for confident swimmers only. Lunch at a traditional restaurant After the active part of the day, enjoy a delicious lunch and take in the views of the surrounding landscape.
Continue to the oasis of Wadi Tiwi Next, you will explore the nearby Wadi Tiwi, another green gem with emerald-colored water, deeply carved into the mountain landscape. Here you’ll gain an authentic insight into life in the small villages scattered along the wadi. We take a short walk through the oasis while your guide explains the traditional Falaj irrigation systems that channel mountain water through the oasis.
Photo Stop at the Impressive Bimmah Sinkhole On the return journey, we stop at the famous Bimmah Sinkhole, a naturally formed rock pool with striking turquoise-blue water. Those who wish can enjoy a final swim before continuing back to the hotel or port.
