The tour is a self-guided tour. Once the tour is downloaded to the DGuide App you can start and stop at your own pace. Follow the hi-lighted rout to the stations, listen to the audio and video explanations. You can also go off the path and return later, at your leisure.
Stop no. 1 - This is the entry point to the Old City. After a brief explanation of where we are, we will enter the old city and make our way to the next stop.
Station 2 - the Tower of David is a historical museum built into the ancient Citadel itself. Enjoy a magnificent 360 degree view of the old and new city as well as a visit to what is possibly the location of the trial of Jesus.
Station 3 - Mt. Zion is home to several sites we will visit. Starting with the Dormition Abbey, the Upper Room (or Room of the Last Supper) and the traditional location for the tomb of King David.
Station 4 - The Roman Cardo of Jerusalem. Jerusalem rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian in the fist half of the 2nd Century. Here we will walk on the Roman pavement and see the replica of the oldest known map of Jerusalem - The Medeba Map.
Station 5 - A relic of Jerusalem mentioned in the Bible, from the time of King Hezekiah - 2700 years ago
Station 6 -Excavations on Jerusalem from the first century. Massive homes and expensive decorations with evidence of the great destruction of the city by the Romans in 70 AD.
Station 7 - The Western Wall, a remnant of the Temple in Jerusalem. The closest place to the Temple mount where Jews can pray.
Station 8 - The original church built in the 4th century, and its many later reconsgtructions, on the traditional location of the crucifixion and resurrections of Jesus Christ.
