Experience a concentrated dose of Tanzania's wild beauty on this 2-day safari through Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Your journey begins in Tarangire, a landscape famously dotted with ancient baobab trees and home to some of Africa's largest elephant herds congregating along the Tarangire River. After an overnight stay in the Karatu area, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic caldera that acts as a natural sanctuary for over 30,000 animals, including the Big Five. This "Garden of Eden" offers one of your best chances to spot the rare black rhino and dense populations of lions before you conclude your adventure with a drive back to Arusha
Our driver guide will come to pick you up at your hotel lobby within Arusha
After breakfast, you'll have time to grab anything you need in Arusha Town before heading into Tarangire National Park for your first game drive. The park's known for its large elephant populations and those distinctive baobab trees scattered across the landscape. You'll have a picnic lunch during the drive and then settle into Maramboi Tented Camp for dinner and your first night.
Early morning you'll descend over 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater to see wildlife that thrives on the year-round water and grazing land down there. You're likely to spot wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and elephants, and if things go your way, you might catch lions, hyenas, or cheetahs too. The drive takes you to Lake Magadi where flamingos, hippos, and various water birds hang out. By late afternoon, you'll transfer back to your Arusha hotel or head to the airport
