The Colonna family is among the oldest families in Rome, and still resides in the wonderful Roman Baroque palace, one of the oldest and most majestic private palaces in the capital.
The rooms of the Galleria Colonna house the works of art of the great masters of late Renaissance and Baroque painting: from Tintoretto, Pinturicchio, Guido Reni, Bronzino and Guercino to the trompe l'oeil style of painting.
The great Italian cinema also came to these rooms, with the famous film 'Roman Holiday', which contains many scenes filmed inside the Galleria Colonna.
